Notopoterygium root and rhizome are acrid and bitter, with a warming energy. This pleasantly aromatic herb, among other things is used to relieve the exterior and relieve wind-damp obstructions. Like other herbs in the Umbelliferae family (which include herbs such as Angelica and Ligusticum), Notopterygium excels at increasing circulation and relieveing stagnation.
