Fall Dang Gui Four
Also known commonly as Four Things Soup and Four Substances Decoction, this is a famous and popular tonic recipe used in Classical Herbalism. It is a fantastic Blood tonic (in contrast to Four Gentlemans Herbs qi tonic) and many other formulas stem from this basic combination. This Blood tonic is ideal for martial artists because while it uses herbs that nourish Blood, it also increases cardiovascular circulation to remove stasis, and is not as stagnating as some other Blood tonics.
Its Fall! In some Japanese traditions, the quantity of different herbs in this recipe is adjusted at different times during the year to customize this formula for each of the 4 seasons. Fall Dang Gui Four is for use specifically in late Summer and Fall as the weather shifts from the humid penetrating heat of Summer to the colorful festive lifestyle of Autumn, characterized by mildly warm days and cool evenings. This tea is a delicious and healthy treat for a cool Fall evening.
To prepare, simply break up the herbs and place them in a non-metallic pot with up to 1 gallon of water (less water produces a smaller amount of stronger tea). Bring to a boil, simmer for 40 minutes, and then strain the herbs. Store the tea in the refrigerator and drink 1/2 cup 2 times per day between meals. You can also add a small amount of honey to increase the tonic properties of the decoction, as well as for flavor. Alternatively, herbs can also be ground/crushed and added to honey to make small pills, which are then baked in the oven.
This product will last approximately 14 days. Prepare 1 bag every 3 months around the break of each season. We will update this product approximately every 3 months.
