Santalum Album
Tan Xiang is also known as Bai Tan Xiang and Huang Tan Xiang. All three names refer to Sandalwood. Tan Xiang is one herb in a group of aromatic woods that are relatively important in their function to regulate normal circulation in the body. Used primarily for cold, painful stagnation, this herb figures in to the occasional dit da recipe, but is less often used than Mu Xiang for example, due to its higher cost.
Sandalwood is acrid and warm, and enters the Spleen and Stomach meridians.
Sold in quantities of 1 oz (28 grams).
