Euryale Ferox
Literally meaning, "Gorgon Fruit", the Euryale seed sits among a number of other seeds and fruits that astringently benefits the kidney. Tonic to the Spleen, the Euryale seed also benefits and warms the Kidney to consolidate and retain jing. It is used occasionally in martial arts training formulas and wines.
Qian Shi is sweet in flavor and neutral (warm when processed), and has an astringent nature. It enters the Kidney and Spleen meridians.
