Cimicifuga Heracleifolia

Literally meaning, "Ascending Hemp", Sheng Ma is an exterior releasing herb. Similar to Chai Hu and Ge Gen, Sheng Ma seeks to clear heat and raise Yang Qi in the body. It is acrid, sweet, and of a cooling nature. Sheng Ma enters the Lung, Spleen,and Large Intestine meridians.
