Bupleurum Chinense
Chai Hu, known as Bupleurum but also known as Thorowax Root, is an herb primarily used for Wind-Heat conditions. It has an uncanny ability to open the Liver and strong ascending and dipersing functions. It is often said to harmonize the interior and exterior.
Chai Hu is bitter and acrid, and exhibits a cool energetic nature. Not surprisingly, Chai Hu enters the Liver meridian.
